Our Survey Says… 2023

Here at Mr Tyre, we like to keep our ear to the ground… or the road. That’s why we reached out via Instagram to poll and gather opinions on common driving habits and road laws over the past few weeks. 

So let’s have a look at the results to see what it is about the world of motoring that gets your seal of approval and what you’d like to hit the brakes on. 

Key findings

• It turns out that over half of you are most annoyed by middle-lane hogging, but only a surprising one percent were bothered by speeding. 
• The government has taken the eco-conscious decision to ban the sale of all diesel and petrol cars by 2030 to help preserve the future of our planet. And it seems that many of you are getting yourself ready for the switch, with over 22% planning to get an electric car within 5 years, while a whopping 65% of you are making plans to purchase an electric model within 10 years. That said, for your very next car, diesel was the overwhelming choice. 
• Personalised number plates can be a controversial subject, but it seems that not as many of you are annoyed by them as you might think. Around 68% of respondents said they were ‘just a bit of fun’, with a further 6% wanting one for themselves. However, 26% had a more disparaging view, seeing personalised number plates as either unnecessary or just a way to show off. 
• The survey highlighted that over half of you could easily go a few weeks without your car, which could be a reflection on the recent growth of working from home practices, which has possibly decreased our reliance on cars. That said, 8% of respondents say they couldn’t go without their car at all..
